Volleyball overcomes 25-12 first-set loss to take next three at Wake Forest.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Boston College volleyball team defeated Wake Forest, 3-1, at Reynolds Gym on Thursday evening. The Eagles, winners of three in a row, bounced back from a 25-12 loss in the first set to take the next three by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-19.
Senior outside hitter Clare Naughton (Atlanta, Ga.) paced BC with 13 kills on. a.310 hitting percentage to go with six digs and three blocks. Freshman Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill.) had a season-high 10 kills.
Freshman libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) led the Eagles' back row with 11 digs. Freshman setter Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) led the offense with 17 assists and classmate Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif.) collected 15 plus five digs.
Wake's Caroline Kuhn led all players with 16 kills.
The Eagles and Demon Deacons meet for a Friday rematch at 2 p.m. on ACCNX.
