12 Eagles Named to National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – A program record 12 members of the Boston College skiing team were named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team on Tuesday by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association. Â
Receiving the honor were Emma Birtwhistle, Ben Charleston, Morgan Ellis, Lauren Geary, Hunter Kendig, Will Kornya, Gigi Kranjc, Andrew Rusis, Zach Simmons, Matthew Smallhouse, Sophia Staudenmayer and Tyler Wetzel.

To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. A total of 428 student-athletes from 28 institutions that compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association, the Central Collegiate Ski Association and the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association were recognized.Â
Boston College has a full squad competing at the NCAA Championships this week for the first time in school history. The giant slalom begins on Wednesday (March 10) at 9:30 a.m. at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire with a live stream on NCAA.com.
