Boldy Named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Matt Boldy was named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week on Monday with UConn's Jachym Kondelik, earning at least a share of the award for the fourth time this season.

The sophomore scored a pair of goals in a 4-2 win over No. 18 Northeastern on Friday to help the Eagles clinch the No. 1 seed for the Hockey East Tournament. Boldy had four shots on goal and was plus-2 in the victory over the Huskies.

His first goal of the night tied teammate Marc McLaughlin for the national lead with his third shorthanded goal, BC's NCAA-leading eighth shorthanded goal as a team. The forward's second goal of the night in the third period was his 50th career point.

Boldy finished the regular season ranked second in Hockey East in both assists per game and points per game. The Eagles are 7-0-0 this season when he scores a goal.

Top seed Boston College will host either Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont in a single game Hockey East Quarterfinal at Kelley Rink on Sunday (March 14) at 4:30 p.m. on NESN.
