Lauren White runs ninth-fastest 1,500m in BC history; Isabella Bruno registers third-best triple jump performance
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Boston College women's track & field team enjoyed some fine performances during Friday's competition at the Raleigh Relays. Â
Lauren White blazed to a time of 4:22.75 in the 1,500m - the ninth-fastest time in program history. Six of the eight performers ahead of her on BC's all-time list were All-Americans - including NCAA 3,000m champion Shannon Smith. White was 12th overall in the 1,500m.
In the triple jump, Isabella Bruno registered the third-best mark all-time in BC track history. She finished eighth overall, enduring a two-hour lightning delay between the first and second jumps during the preliminary round.
Sorcha McAllister (33rd, 16:51.63) raced in the 5,000m.
On Thursday, Alexandra McNeil placed 15th in the javelin, with a throw of 32.24m (105'9"), while Gabriella Raia was 17th (29.03m/95'3").
Jessica Creedon (15.32) and Morgan Halt (15.40) placed 30th and 31st, respectively, the 100m hurdles. Emma Kinney (45th, 13.18) and Sophia Schwartz (46th, 13.38) raced in the 100m.
