Aguiar and Irani Victorious in 5-2 Loss at No. 29 Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Boston College visited No. 29 Wake Forest on Sunday for an ACC clash in North Carolina, but fell by a final score of 5-2 to close its weekend.
The Eagles dropped to 4-7 overall and 2-7 in ACC play, while the Demon Deacons improved to 10-6 (5-3 ACC).
Wake Forest wasted no time in clinching the doubles point as matches in the top two slots were decided 6-0 and 6-1.
BC's Kylie Wilcox fought hard against No. 21 Carolyn Campana in the No. 1 singles slot, but ultimately fell in a third set superbreaker. Anna Campana, No. 98 Eliza Omirou, and Casie Wooten all registered singles victories for Wake.
Marice Aguiar and Natasha Irani were the two Eagles to win their singles matches. Aguiar didn't lose a single game against Anna Brylin, who was forced to retire down 1-0 in the second set. Irani defeated Brooke Killingsworth in a third set superbreaker to finish the weekend 2-0 in singles.
Boston College is off next weekend and hits the road the following weekend to face Clemson (April 2) and Georgia Tech (April 4).
