
Govaert, Johnson Named 2021 NFHCA All-Americans

Govaert collected her third All-American honor; Johnson receives first career All-American accolade
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Two members of the Boston College field hockey team - Fusine Govaert and Sarah Johnson - were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as part of its 2021 Division I All-American team, it was announced today.
Govaert was recognized as a First Team All-American - her third NFHCA All-American honor - capping off her highly successful career at Boston College. This past season, Govaert earned First Team All-ACC accolades for the third time in her career and was named to both the 2021 NFHCA Division I Senior Team and All-Northeast Regional squad. She tied for second on the Eagles in scoring, with 13 points - tallying five goals and three assists in 2021. She led the team in overall shots, and shots on-goal, while scoring two game winning goals. Govaert is a two-time NFHCA First Team All-American (2019, 2021) and earned Second Team honors in 2020. She will represent the United States as part of the senior national team as it prepares for the 2022 Pan American Cup in January.
Johnson earned her first career NFHCA All-American accolade, as she was named to the Third Team. In her first season with the Eagles, Johnson led BC - and ranked 10th in the ACC - in scoring, with 17 points during the regular season. A 2021 NFHCA First Team All-Northeast regional selection, the Oxford, Pa. Product was also an All-ACC second team selection. This season, Johnson tallied six goals - two of which were game winners - and five assists, which ranked her eighth in the conference. The graduate transfer from Stanford earned her fourth career all-conference recognition. She was a three-time All-America East honoree with the Cardinal.
