
Eagles Set 23 School Records In Historic Weekend At BU

Both men and women took home victories at Terrier Invitational
BOSTON — In the final competition of the month, the Eagles won the Terrier Invitational on the men's and women's sides in one of the most successful mid-season performances in program history.
The men won with 1,671 points, while the women earned 1,552 points, with the Eagles defeating Boston University, Georgetown, UMass, Fairfield, and Northeastern in swimming and diving events over the three day meet.
In total, the Eagles logged 65 performances that now rank in the school's top-ten all time. 23 of those represented new school records, including new bests in both the men's and women's 400 Freestyle Relays, and thirteen combined records from two swimmers alone.
Freshman Megan Kramer added to her breakout season, winning five events and setting seven school records. Kramer now ranks first in Boston College history in the 200 Freestyle (1:49.91), 500 Freestyle (4:49.88), 1000 Freestyle (10:01.60), 1650 Freestyle (16:37.46), and 400 Individual Medley (4:19.25). In the preliminary rounds on Friday and Saturday, Kramer broke the program record in the 500 Freestyle and the 400 Individual Medley, only to break her own record in the finals sessions those nights.
Junior Zachary Szmania set three program records and earned a US Open cut and an NCAA B Cut with his performance in the 1650 Freestyle, swimming a 15:23.38, the fastest time in school history by over seven seconds. He also set new records in the 500 Free (4:26.64) and the 1000 Free (9:20.16).
Sophomore Kyle Floyd set two individual records of his own and also contributed on the record-breaking relay teams in the 400 Free relay and 800 Free relay. He shattered the marks in the 100 Fly and 200 Fly prelims, only to break his own records in the finals rounds, swimming a 47.94 in the 100 and a 1:46.73 in the 200. His time in the 200 Fly earned him the win and a US Open cut.
Men's Highlights:

• The 200 Medley relay of Michael Horkan, Jack Doyle, Matt Szekely, and Sam Roche set the school record with a 1:28.32, and Szekely's 21.14 Fly split in the fastest in program history.
• Matt Szekely earned a US Open cut with a 20.38 in the 50 Free
• Bryce Henkel earned a US Open cut with a 48.78 in the 100 Fly and a bonus cut in the 200 Fly
Women's Highlights:
• Won all five relay events
• Gigi Baldacci set school records and earned victories in the 100 Breaststroke (1:02.75) and 200 Breaststroke (2:16.03), and her 27.94 split in the medley relay is the fastest in program history.
• The 400 Free relay of Ashleigh Scott, Gigi Baldacci, Sofia Zinis, and Katie Drumm won the event and set the school record with a 3:24.00.
• Livy Poulin earned an NCAA Zone A cut in the 1 meter dive
