
No. 13 Boston College Beats No. 24 Duke On Senior Night

NEWTON, Mass. — No. 13 ranked Boston College took down No. 24 Duke, 3-1, in the Eagles' final regular season home game of the season.
Before the game, BC honored six athletes - graduate students Fusine Govaert, Elizabeth Warner, and Jaime Natale, as well as three seniors, Sky Caron, Nell Webber, and Jonna Kennedy - for their dedication to the program.
Early in the first, Duke's Logan Clouser fired a rebound shot past BC goalkeeper Jonna Kennedy to take the lead for the Blue Devils.
With less than a second left in the first quarter, Jill Joossens found herself in the circle and tied it at 1-1. Nell Webber earned the assist on the play. BC and Duke entered halftime at 1-1.
In the third quarter, Duke took a shot on Jonna Kennedy, and on the rebound, Juliette Hijdra was awarded a defensive save. Just moments later, Sarah Johnson found the back of the net off a free hit with an assist from Fusine Govaert.
In the fourth quarter, Webber tacked on another point with an assist from Milagros Arteta on a breakaway with a little over eight minutes remaining in the game.
Boston College held a 16-13 edge in overall shots and the advantage in shots on goal 9-5. The Blue Devils attempted eight penalty corners to six for Boston College. Kennedy had a successful game in net for the Eagles, stopping four shots and allowing one goal for her eighth victory of the season.
Boston College returns to action in Dedham on Sunday at noon against Northeastern. The match will air live on FloSports.Team Stats
