Newhook Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

Abby Newhook scored two goals in BC's win at UNH on Saturday.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Hockey East announced on Monday that Boston College freshman Abby Newhook has been named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week.
The St. John's, Newfoundland native scored two goals in BC's come-from-behind, 3-2, victory at New Hampshire on Saturday night. Newhook got the Eagles on the board late in the second period before putting home the game-winning goal with under four minutes to play to cap the three-goal comeback.
Newhook finished the two-win weekend with two points on two goals, six shots on goal and a plus-1 rating. The forward now has four points on the year off of three goals and one assist, with two of her goals going for game-winners. She is the first BC rookie to score two game-winning goals in their first five career games since Allie Thunstrom '10 did it during her 2006-07 freshman season.
This is marks the first career weekly honor for Newhook.
