Eagles Set Two Pool Records Against Army

Eagles hosted Army on Friday to kick off the dual meet season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College swim and dive team hosted Army in their first dual meet of the season last Friday, October 8. On the men's side, Army defeated Boston College 180 to 120, winning the men's competition for the second year in a row. On the women's side, Boston College avenged their loss last season with a 214.5 to 85.5 victory, winning thirteen of the sixteen events.Â
As a team, Boston College logged nine finishes that now rank in the top-ten all time in program history, including two pool records and one new school record.
Junior Livy Poulin made headlines in the one-meter dive, scoring a 288.10 to break the Boston College school record and qualify for NCAA Zones. After breaking Kristen Gray's 2001 mark of 285.00 at Boston College's intrasquad meet last month, Livy re-broke her own record on Friday to set the new school mark.Â
In the women's 500 Freestyle, Megan Kramer set a pool record of her own, swimming a 4:57.89 to win the event and breaking the previous record of 4:59.40 set in 2019 by Easop Lee (Duke University).Â

• Livy Poulin set the new program record in the one-meter dive with a score of 288.10
• Swept the 500 Freestyle (Megan Kramer, Olivia Howard, Lindsey Ryalls)
• Swept the 100 Backstroke (Nicole Barkemeyer, Lauren Sielicki, Claire Russell)
• Swept the 200 Individual Medley (Megan Kramer, Nicole Barkemeyer, Liza Murtagh)
• Finished first and second in five events
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:Â
• Finished first and second in the 200 Butterfly (Andrew Blusiewicz, Lucius Yu-Kisselbach)
• Finished first and second in the 100 Butterfly (Kyle Floyd, Matt Szekely)
• Zachary Szmania won the 500 Freestyle (4:36.90) and the 1000 Freestyle (9:31.92)Â
• Michael Horkan won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 50.97

The Eagles will go on the road to face Duke and North Carolina Wilmington on October 29 and 30.
