Kristie Mewis Called in to U.S. Soccer January Training Camp Roster

Women's soccer alumna Kristie Mewis has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team January Training Camp Roster, as announced today by U.S. Soccer.
CHICAGO – Boston College women's soccer alumna Kristie Mewis has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team January Training Camp Roster ahead of two upcoming games against Colombia, as announced today by U.S. Soccer.
The 2013 graduate is one of eight midfielders named to the 27-player roster. From the training camp roster, head coach Vlatko Andonovski will name 18 players to take on Colombia on Jan. 18 and Jan. 22 in Orlando.
Mewis attended the most recent national team training camp in November and went on to earn her first national team appearance since 2013, scoring a goal in the team's 2-0 win over the Netherlands. Mewis now has 16 caps, two goals and two assists for the senior national team.
The Hanson, Mass. native currently plays for the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League, helping the team to the 2020 Challenge Cup title this summer. Mewis finished the 2020 season – which included an impressive one goal, three assist game in the NWSL Fall Series – with three goals and team-leading six assists. Mewis, who earned an NWSL Player of the Week honor in October, was named the team's Most Valuable Player of 2020 by fans and media.
In her time on the Heights, Mewis recorded 116 points in 89 games. The three-time Hermann Trophy semifinalist tallied 39 goals and 38 assists as an Eagle.
