Eagles to Open 2020 Season Oct. 4

Eagles to play a shortened seven-game schedule in 2020.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College field hockey and the Atlantic Coast Conference announced its 2020 field hockey schedule on Friday morning. The schedule will feature seven games against the six ACC opponents in the span of four weeks and end in Durham, North Carolina for the ACC Championships.

BC opens the season with four road games, starting Sunday, Oct. 4 at Louisville. The following weekend, the Eagles head to Syracuse for back-to-back games on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11 before closing out the road stretch at Duke on Friday, Oct. 16.

BC's home opener welcomes Virginia to Chestnut Hill on Oct. 18, where the last time the two faced off, senior Fusine Govaert scored the game's lone goal in overtime to send the Eagles to its first ACC title game appearance in program history.

The two-time defending national champions, North Carolina, then come to Chestnut Hill on Sunday, Oct. 25 with the Eagles closing out the regular season at home against Wake Forest Sunday, Nov. 1.

Last season, the Eagles had one of its best season's in program history, going 15-8 with a program-record four ACC wins and making its first-ever ACC title game appearance and first-ever final four.
