White, Roche Named Eagles of the Week

Lauren White and Sam Roche have been named the Musco Lighting Eagles of the Week.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College sophomores Lauren White and Sam Roche have been named the Musco Lighting Eagles of the Week for their performances this past weekend.
White earned All-ACC Second Team honors this past weekend in both the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs at the 2020 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Woodbury, N.Y. native placed fourth in the 3,000 with a time of 9:18.82. White then ran a 16:20.75 in the 5,000 for another fourth-place finish.
Roche set four program records at the 2020 ACC Swimming Championships, setting two individual and two relay program-best times. The Fairport, N.Y. native swam a 21.78 in the 50-yard backstroke and also set a program record in the 100-yard backstroke in 47.60 to earn an NCAA B-cut placement. Combining with teammates Matt Clark, Matt Shelton and Zander Santana in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the squad set record with a 2:58.73 finish, and Roche's 100-yard freestyle split (43.98) was the second-best in program history. He was also part of the program-best 6:36.42 800-yard freestyle relay finish with Clark, Colin O'Leary and Matt Szekely.
