March 01, 2020 | Women's Tennis
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – 15th-ranked Notre Dame outlasted Boston College 4-3 on Saturday night at the Weymouth Club to secure an ACC victory over the Eagles.
BC (9-5, 0-5 ACC) stormed back from 3-1 down to tie the match, but Zoe Spence pulled out a third set over Kylie Wilcox 6-4 for the deciding point.
After dropping the doubles point, the Eagles got a dominant 6-2, 6-2 performance in sixth singles from Elene Tsokilauri over Maeve Koscielski. The Fighting Irish won the next two matches at the No. 3 and 5 slots, but Yufei Long's straight set victory against Cameron Corse at first singles made it a one-point match.
Laura Lopez preserved her perfect singles record with a three-set win over Ally Bojczuk in fourth singles to tie the match 3-3, but the Irish had the final answer in No. 2 singles. Deadlocked 4-4 in the final set, Spence won the final two games against Wilcox to clinch the match.Â
