Eagles Fall to Wildcats in Regular Season Finale

BC will be seeded fourth in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinals and host UConn next weekend.
DURHAM, N.H. – The Boston College women's hockey team fell to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, 5-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Whittemore Center in the regular season finale. BC will be the fourth overall seed in the Hockey East Tournament and will now host fifth-seeded UConn next weekend in a best-of-three quarterfinal series.
UNH struck three minutes into the game and held a 2-0 lead midway through the opening frame, but Kelly Browne's 13th goal of the season made it a one-goal game at the first break. The Wildcats, though, would score twice in the second for a 4-1 lead after two periods. A third power-play goal by UNH made it 5-1 seven minutes into the final frame to close out the scoring.
Kelly Pickreign finished with 27 saves for BC while Ava Boutilier had 30 for UNH.

- 1st, 3:01 | 0-1, UNH GOAL: Meghara McManus entered the right circle and put a pass back to the high slot and Abby Chapman skated on to it and fired a wrist shot inside the left post.
- 1st, 11:10 | 0-2, UNH GOAL: On the power play, Taylor Wenczkowksi worked the puck to Emily Rickwood at the right dot and Rickwood wristed a shot through a screen.
- 1st, 14:34 | 1-2, BC GOAL: Hannah Bilka entered the zone down the left wing and fed Browne for a shot from the slot. The rebound fell to the top of the crease and Caroline DiFiore and Bilka forced it to Browne for a finish at the right post.
- 2nd, 5:39 | 1-3, UNH GOAL: A blocked shot was cleared into the neutral zone and McManus skated in alone on Pickreign for a deke and finish.
- 2nd, 10:52 | 1-4 UNH GOAL: After skating into the high slot, Nicole Dunbar wristed a shot that was initially saved but the loose pick trickled over the goal line.
- 3rd | 1-5 UNH GOAL: Tori Howran's wrist shot from the top of the zone was redirected inside the left post by Tamara Thierus.
- BC now holds a 24-43-5 record in the all-time series with UNH and a mark of 10-21-4 at the Whittemore Center … head coach Katie Crowley is 22-14-4 against the Wildcats.
- Four Eagles in Savannah Norcross, Delaney Belinskas, Browne and Bilka finished with four shots on goal.
- Browne led the Eagles with 11 face-off wins to push her season total to 416.
- Bilka finished the Hockey East regular season slate with 30 points on 11 goals and 19 assists to lead all rookies in scoring.
- UNH had the 32-31 lead in shots on goal.
- Cayla Barnes blocked a game-high four shots on the afternoon and now has 93 on the year.
