Sophomore forward honored as BC picks up two ACC wins
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Taylor Soule has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
Soule averaged a double-double through 24.5 points and 11 rebounds in a pair of Boston College victories this week. She shot 17-for-29 (58.6%) from the field and 15-for-20 from the foul line to pick up seventh and eighth double-doubles of the season.
The West Lebanon, N.H. product scored 20 points with 10 rebounds in the win over Notre Dame at home on Thursday. In Sunday's win over North Carolina, Soule shot 11-for-13 from the floor and added seven points on free throws for a career-high 29 points, adding 12 boards on the way. In the third quarter alone, Soule was 6-for-6 with 14 points and had six rebounds.
The Eagles improved to 15-10 overall and a program-best 8-6 in the ACC. The team is 7-1 when Soule records a double-double.
The second-year guard is currently averaging 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds a game. Soule has tallied double-digits in points in 17 games, including seven of the last eight games.
Soule and the Eagles will host conference foe Pittsburgh on Thursday at Conte Forum (7 p.m.). That game will be lived streamed on the ACC Network.
The Eagles will close out the home regular season schedule on Sunday, Feb. 23 when Miami comes to town (4 p.m.). Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the program will honor the senior class – Taylor Ortlepp, Emma Guy and Georgia Pineau – prior to tip.
