Walker-Weinstein Announces 2020 Captains

Seniors Cara Urbank, Sheila Rietano and Kate Taylor have been named captains of the lacrosse team
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The No. 5 Boston College women's lacrosse team has named seniors Cara Urbank, Sheila Rietano and Kate Taylor as its captains for the 2020 season, as announced by head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein on Saturday. The trio comes into their senior season with a wealth of experience, having participated in the national championship game in each of their years on the Heights.
"I have a very deep belief in these three," shared Walker-Weinstein. "It's a personal kind of trust that I am so grateful to have in the people leading our team."Â
Urbank comes as the teams' leading returning scorer, having tallied 74 points through 55 goals and 19 assists as a junior. Rietano follows next with a 49-point junior campaign, scoring 35 goals and adding 14 helpers. She is also the highest returning draw control winner, grabbing 24 possessions last season. Taylor provides the most accurate shot on the team, having scored 14 goals off of 18 shots last season for a .778 percentage.Â
The Eagles' season begins next week with a trip to visit intra-state rival Massachusetts on Sat., Feb. 8 with a 1:00 PM opening draw.
