No. 2 Eagles Suffer First Loss, 3-1 at UConn

Freshman Henry Wilder finished with 39 saves in his second collegiate start
STORRS, Conn. – UConn scored three goals in the second period and held off No. 2 Boston College 3-1 in BC's final game of the first semester on Saturday afternoon at the Freitas Ice Forum.
The Eagles (5-1-0, 1-1-0 HEA) saw their five-game winning streak come to an end, in addition to their six-game winning streak against the Huskies (1-2-1, 1-1-0 HEA). The loss also snapped a 14-game unbeaten run (13-0-1) dating back to last season for BC.
Henry Wilder once again performed admirably in his second collegiate start. The rookie netminder finished the contest with 39 saves, including 17 in the second period and 14 more in the third.
Freshman Trevor Kuntar scored Boston College's lone goal on the power play for his fourth of the season.
Connecticut's three tallies all came in a span of four and a half minutes in the middle frame to seize control of the league contest.
SCORING SUMMARY
2nd 4:15, CON (1-0) | During an odd-man rush, Artem Shlaine sent a cross-zone pass to Johnny Evans, who tucked a shot inside the right post past a sprawling Wilder's pad.
2nd 7:42, CON (2-0) | Wilder attempted to cover a puck outside the crease but lost his stick, and Marc Gatcomb took advantage as he lofted a shot under the crossbar.
2nd 8:34, CON (3-0) | Roman Kinal's turnaround effort from the left circle was denied, but Nick Capone batted the rebound inside the near post from mid-air with his backhand.
3rd 12:57, BC (3-1) | Mike Hardman gained possession along the right wing half boards and sent a shot-pass into the low slot for Kuntar, who directed the puck into the top left corner.
