November 13, 2020 | Women's Tennis
BOSTON – Boston College women's tennis head coach Nigel Bentley has announced the signing of five-star recruits Muskan Mahajan and Stephanie Sanchez in the Class of 2025. The talented pair will join the Eagles beginning in the 2021-22 season.
"We are absolutely thrilled that Muskan and Stephanie will be part of our team next year," said Bentley. "They will fit in beautifully with our team environment. This is fantastic news for our team and school. They are not only really good players and have proven this in many big tournaments, but also they work really hard in the classroom too. They are committed to excelling at BC and in our community, and we look forward to them being Eagles."
Mahajan comes to the Heights from San Ramon, California. She reached the quarterfinals of USTA Winter Nationals last year in Orlando and has been in the top-30 on the Tennis Recruiting Network throughout her junior career. Mahajan also reached several quarterfinals last year in junior international tournaments in Canada.
Sanchez currently resides in Hollywood, Florida but was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She was a finalist at the 2019 "Bobby Curtis" Junior State Championships in Florida, one of the most competitive USTA section championships in the nation. Sanchez was the champion of the 2019 ITF J5 Bayamon tournament in Puerto Rico, representing her native Venezuela.Â
Boston College was 9-5 last season before the remainder of the campaign was cancelled due to COVID-19.Â
