Eagles tabbed for eighth in ACC preseason poll
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College junior forward Taylor Soule was named Preseason All-ACC according to separate polls of the league's 15 head coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel.
In addition, the ACC announced that Boston College was selected to finish eighth in the ACC Preseason Blue Ribbon Panel and ninth according to the league's 15 head coaches.
Soule is coming off a breakout sophomore season and was named the 2019-20 ACC's Most Improved Player.
She was instrumental in Boston College's turnaround last season, as she averaged 7.9 points per game as a freshman and has taken her game to the next level in her sophomore year, nearly doubling that total with 14.5 points a game.
Soule scored a career-high 29 points in the Eagles' win against North Carolina, which ranked among the ACC's top individual scoring performances in a game last season.
An All-ACC Tournament second-team honoree, Soule was named to the All-ACC Blue Ribbon second-team and All-ACC Honorable Mention following the 2019-20 campaign.
Last season, BC was picked to finish 13th in the preseason poll by the head coaches and Blue Ribbon Panel before head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee led Boston College to a program-record 11 conference wins and a 20-12 overall record. The Eagles' sixth seeding in the ACC Tournament was the best since BC joined the conference for the 2005-06 season.
BC set a program record with five conference road wins and won five consecutive ACC games for the first time since 2005-06 last year. The Eagles' regular-season slate was highlighted by an upset win at No. 14 Florida State, which was the program's first ranked win since 2015.
