No. 5 Duke Tops Boston College in Overtime, 1-0

The Blue Devils broke the scoreless tie with a 96th minute tally.
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team took fifth-ranked Duke into overtime on Thursday night but the Blue Devils scored five minutes into overtime to eke out a 1-0 win at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The game served as the inaugural Pink Card Match for the Eagles. The team's pink game-worn pink jerseys will be auctioned here, and donations can also be made here, with 80 percent of the proceeds going to support the Newton-Wellesley Auerbach Breast Center.
The two ACC schools played evenly through the first 45 minutes, with both entering the break with four shots, but Duke came out looking to score early in the second stanza. Goalkeeper Allie Augur made six saves in the second half, including a key punch over the crossbar in the 56th minute and two back-to- back point-blank saves in the 81st minute.
The scoreless tie would be broken in the 96th minute, with Delaney Graham's right-footed finish giving the Blue Devils the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 96' | Just outside the 18 on the left flank, Karlie Paschall served in a long ball that landed at the feet of Marykate McGuire. McGuire turned on the edge of the six-yard box, slotted a pass to the center and Graham slotted it home with her right foot.
GAME NOTES
- Duke had a 18-4 lead in shots … the Blue Devils had a 17-3 lead in corner kicks.
- The Eagles are now 4-12-3 in the all-time series with Duke … BC has a mark of 3-4-2 in Newton against the Blue Devils.
- Goalkeeper Allie Augur finished with seven saves for the Eagles while … Ruthie Jones made two saves for the Blue Devils.
- This was the first overtime game of the season for the Eagles and the first time in nine games that BC has played past 90 minutes … this was the fourth overtime game of the season for the Blue Devils.
- This marked the second consecutive one-goal game in the series between the Blue Devils and the Eagles … four out of the last five meetings have been decided by one goal and 13 out of the 19 all-time meetings have been decided by one goal or less.
- Emily Knous has registered at least one shot in every game this season.
- The Eagles will remain home to host No. 1 North Carolina at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18.
