Women's Basketball Holds First Official Practice
October 14, 2020 | Women's Basketball
The 2020-21 women's basketball season has officially started. After much delay due to COVID-19, the team entered Power Gym at 3 p.m. to begin the season. The day started with a team lift followed by the first official practice.
The Eagles are coming off one of the most successful seasons in recent years. BC finished the 2019-20 season with a 20-12 overall record and posted the best ACC record in program history (11-7). Not only did Head Coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee win the ACC Coach of the Year Award, senior Emma Guy was named to the All-ACC first team, while now junior Taylor Soule was named the ACC's Most Improved Player and earned All-ACC and Tournament honors.
BC returns four starters in Soule, junior Marnelle Garraud, junior Makayla Dickens and junior Cameron Swartz. Sophomore Akunna Konkwo is returned to the hardwood after suffering an Achilles injury in preseason last year. Boston College added three freshmen to the roster – guard Kaylah Ivey, guard/forward JoJo Lacey and center Sydney McQuietor.
