Eagles Travel to Maine for Colby Carnival

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College alpine ski team will travel to Carrabassett Valley, Maine this weekend for the Colby Carnival at Sugarloaf Mountain. Competition begins at 9:15 a.m. on Friday (Jan. 31) and Saturday (Feb. 1).
HOMECOMING FOR GUTSTEIN
• Sophomore Trent Gutstein finished 15th overall as the men's alpine team placed ninth in the slalom on Gutstein's home hill at Stowe Mountain Resort last weekend
• The Stowe native's second run in the slalom was the sixth-fastest overall at the annual UVM Carnival
• Men's junior captain Chris Bertram finished 21st among college racers in the slalom.
• Women's co-captain Parker Biele led the way with a 32nd place finish in the slalom and right behind her was Sophia Staudenmayer who took 34th place
BIELE MAKES HISTORY
• Parker Biele set a program record for the highest EISA finish ever by a BC women's alpine skier at the inaugural Harvard Carnival to begin the EISA season
• Biele was 13th after her first run in the women's giant slalom before eventually placing 14th overall for her fourth career top-20 GS finish
• Her previous top finishes came at the 2018 and 2019 UVM Carnivals, also in giant slalom
• As a freshman, Biele was 20th in the GS at the season-opening Colby Carnival in her NCAA debut
