January 14, 2020 | Field Hockey
LANCASTER, Pa. – Sky Caron has been named a member of the US U-21 Women's National Team following a three-day training period at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Caron was the backbone of the defense for the Eagles, helping BC to a program-best 4-2 record in ACC play and a 1.17 GAA in ACC play. Caron was also a threat on offense as part of a two-headed attack on penalty corners. She posted four goals and six assists on the season for 14 points in her sophomore campaign. The Hampton, N.H. native registered an assist in each NCAA Tournament game for BC, including the game-winning goal against Northwestern. She was also named an NFHCA Northeast Region first team member.
Caron isn't the only Eagle with an opportunity to make the team, as both Margo Carlin and Jonna Kennedy have a second trial upcoming. Kennedy is one of two goalkeepers who will see a second trial in March. Carlin was unable to compete during the training sessions due to an illness and will receive a trial at the next training opportunity in March.
The squad will begin training starting next month in Chula Vista, Calif. from February 20 to 24. Their second training camp will take place alongside the other women's Junior National Teams from March 27 to 29 in Chapel Hill and Durham, N.C. These training camps will be part of the team's year-long preparations for the Junior Pan American Championship that will take place from November 30 to December 13 in Santiago, Chile.
