Eagles with Three Top Finishes at Beantown Challenge

ALLSTON, Mass. - The Boston College women's indoor track and field team opened 2020 with three top finishes at the Beantown Challenge, hosted by Harvard University, at the Gordon Indoor Track on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Paige Duca earned the first win of the day for the Eagles, running a 2:52.35 in the 1000m, just outstretching the second-place runner. Then Lauren White finished in first during the longest race of the day, the 3000m run, running a 9:52.70. The last first-place finish for BC was a group effort, winning the 4x880 yard relay in a time of 9:21.80.

The Eagles also finished in second in the 3000m, with Anna Oeser running a 9:55.30. White and Oeser were the only two runners to finish the race in under 10 minutes.

BC had a 3-4-5 finish in the mile, with the trio of Kylee Raftis, Isabelle Kennedy and Caroline Berry competing. Raftis ran a 5:00.92 with Kennedy running a 5:02.95 and Berry closing out the group with a 5:05.13.

Julia Lyons was the Eagles' top field performer, hitting a 5.83m (19-1.50) in the long jump.

What's Next
The Eagles are back in action next weekend, competing in the BU Multi-Team Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
