Eagles Open Season with Second-Place Finish at Nassaney Invitational
September 07, 2019 | Men's Cross Country
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Boston College men's cross country opened the 2019 season at the Nassaney Invitational in Smithfield, Rhode Island on Saturday, finishing in second place with 80 points.
BC then saw a pack of three come in about 30 seconds later, led by sophomore Erik Linden in 26:08.3 to come in 20th. The next two to cross the finish line for BC were John Wacker and Gordon Pollack, who crossed in 26:08.7 and 26:09.1 to place 22nd and 23rd, respectively.
"We are looking at this as our first step on our way to more competitive goals but very pleased with where we are at early in the season," continued Kerr. "It's also worth mentioning the improvement from our returning returning. Last year, Sullivan was a DNF, Ruffing ran a PR and Pollock knocked over a minute off from last year."
Two freshmen closed out the top seven for the Eagles, as John Seiberlich crossed the line in 26:22.8 and Edward Tristine in 26:44.4.
