Eagles Fall to No. 2 Maryland, 3-1

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Boston College field hockey team fell to No. 2 Maryland, 3-1, in the first game of the ACC/Big 10 Cup at Northwestern in Evanstown, Illinois on Friday.

Jaime Natale led the way for the Eagles, scoring the team's lone goal on the afternoon, with Autumn Littlefield and Sky Caron picking up assists on the goal.

BC took 10 total shots, with four on net, compared to 14 for Maryland, with 10 on net.

Jonna Kennedy made a game-high seven saves throughout her 60 minutes in net.

Maryland opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game with a goal by Madison Maguire, before Natale buried the tying goal off a deflection with 20 seconds to play in the period.

The Terrapins would add one more with five minutes remaining in the period off an Emma DeBerdine goal. Maryland would then add one more goal late in the fourth period by Linda Cobano.
