Eagles Picked 13th in Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. – The Boston College field hockey team was picked 13th in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Coaches' Poll to open the season, as announced by the NFHCA today.

This is the second-consecutive season the Eagles have started the year ranked 13th in the country. The Atlantic Coast Conference saw every team ranked in the poll, with all seven schools in the top-20.

BC is coming off a 10-9 season in 2018, but enters 2019 having lost seven seniors. Head Coach Kelly Doton brought in a freshman class of eight to help replace the lost points.

Elizabeth Warner is the Eagles highest-scoring returning player, coming off a five goal, 12 point season. Last week, Fusine Govaert was named Preseason All-ACC, as voted by the conference coaches.

The Eagles open 2019 on the road at Providence, Friday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. with their home opener on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m.
