Govaert Named to Preseason All-ACC Team; Eagles Picked Sixth

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Fusine Govaert was one of 11 student-athletes named to the 2019 Preseason All-ACC field hockey team, while the Eagles were picked to placed sixth, as announced by the conference Friday.
Govaert is coming off a sophomore season where she scored five goals and tallied one assist on the year. The Rye, New York native appeared in all 19 games last season, starting 12 of them.
The conference also released its preseason poll, picking North Carolina to repeat as conference champions. UNC saw six first-place votes and totaled 48 points to lead the conference with Duke closely following with one first-place vote and 43 points.
BC earned 17 points, which just edged out Wake Forest (16) and behind Syracuse (18).
The Eagles open the 2019 campaign on the road at Providence Friday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.
