NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College field hockey team won its first preseason match against UMass Lowell, 4-3, behind two goals from Sky Caron.

Late in the first period, Lauren Curran took a shot in the closing seconds of the frame that would be blocked, but the ball found its way to Jaime Natale's stick, who hit home the first goal for the Eagles with one second remaining on the clock.
Then four minutes later and into the second period, Margo Carlin corralled a rebound off a shot by Jaime Natale to score BC's second goal of the match.
Sky Caron then punched in two goals of her own in the second frame. The first came off a penalty corner from the left side of the goal, where she buried a hard, driven shot from the top of the shooting circle.
