Eagles Announce 2019 Schedule
August 01, 2019 | Women's Cross Country
FULL SCHEDULE
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The BC women's cross country team announces the 2019 schedule featuring six meets prior to the ACC Championship.
The team will open the season splitting up for two meets on Sept. 7, heading south for the Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. and west for the UMass Invitational in Amherst, Mass. Last season, then-sophomore Kylee Raftis took home the win in the women's 5k race at the Nassaney Invitational, leading BC to a first-place team finish.Â
Two weeks later, the Eagles are back in Boston to host the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, Sept. 20. Last season, the field saw 28 total schools from across the United States compete at Franklin Park in the meet.
BC then reconvenes at Franklin Park for the New England Championships Oct. 12, where the Eagles look to defend their 2018 team title. The Eagles completed a 2-3-4 finish to help them win the meet by 61 points.
A new addition to the women's cross country schedule is the NCAA Pre Meet, held Oct. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind. The meet is in the same location as the NCAA Championships held later in the fall.
BC is back in the New England area for the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet in New Britain, Connecticut, Oct 25. Last year, the Eagles placed five runners in the top-50 on the three-kilometer course.
The postseason begins in Blacksburg, Va. for the ACC Championships, Nov. 1, where the Eagles look to improve on a 10th-place finish in 2018.
On Nov. 15, BC heads to Buffalo, N.Y. for the NCAA Northeast Regional, followed by the NCAA Championships Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.
