Lewis was the 2016-17 CSCAA Division III National Coach of the Year
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College swimming and diving coach Mike Stephens announced today that Jack Lewis has been hired as the new diving coach for the Eagles.
Â
"I am grateful for the opportunity to be joining the Boston College swimming and diving community," Lewis said. "I'd like to thank Mike Stephens and the administration at BC for this opportunity to work with such amazing student-athletes. I am excited to continue to develop athletes not only athletically, but motivate them to reach their potential in and out of the pool."
Â
Lewis spent the last three seasons at Wellesley College, earning 2016-17 CSCAA Division III National Diving Coach of the Year honors after coaching one of his student-athletes to national championships on both the 1- and 3-meter boards. He was also named the 2018 NEWMAC women's diving coach of the year. As the diving coach for the Blue, Lewis was responsible for developing an annual training program and also recruiting student-athletes.
"I am incredibly confident that Jack is the right fit to help our diving program continue to grow," said Stephens. "His experience, personality, and passion will be a great match for our team."
Â
A 2015 graduate of Springfield College, Lewis is among the most decorated divers in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) history, having earned Diver of the Year honors twice and NEWMAC Diver of the Week honors 18 times. Additionally, Lewis was a three-time Honorable Mention All-American.
While at Springfield, Lewis made two NCAA appearances, earning three All-American honors. He currently holds the Springfield school record on the 3-meter board (579.05). Prior to his time at Springfield, Lewis started diving with the Charles River Diving program in Dover, N.H.
Lewis graduated from Springfield with a degree in General Recreation Management in 2015 and is currently pursuing his Master's in Special Education at Lesley University.
