
Naumec, Cavaliere Earn Postseason Honors

BC Golf duo named to All-New England and All-ACC Academic teams
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Matt Naumec and Christian Cavaliere earned a pair of postseason honors. Â
The duo were named to the 2018-19 All-New England team for their outstanding play during the fall and spring seasons with Boston College golf. Off the course, Naumec and Cavaliere were honored for their excellence in the classroom, earning spots on the 2018-19 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team. Â
Through nine tournaments (26 rounds), Naumec and Cavaliere were the Eagles' leaders in scoring average, at 71.81 and 71.96 strokes per round, respectively.
Naumec, who qualified and played in the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach this past weekend, led the Eagles in scoring average - 71.81 - through 10 tournaments (30 rounds). His best finish of the season came at the HealthPlan Mountaineer Invitational in the fall, finishing second overall - one stroke behind the individual medalist. Naumec was 5-under for the weekend, finishing with a score of 211. For the season, he posted four top 10 finishes, including a pair of fourth place finishes - at The Macdonald Cup in late September and the Fort Lauderdale Invitational in early March. The Wilbraham, Mass. native is an economics major.
Cavaliere win the Turning Stone Tiger Invitational to open the 2018 fall season, going 10-under (206) for the 54-hole tournament. He fired a collegiate-low round of 64 during the tournament's second round of play. In all, the Katonah, N.Y. native posted three top 10 finishes, including a 10th place finish at The Macdonald Cup and and eighth-place finish at the Fort Lauderdale Invitational. Cavaliere is majoring in marketing.
