Boston College Athletics Mourns the Loss of Andy Jick

PA voice of BC Athletics passed away at the age of 66
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Department of Athletics mourns the loss of long-time public address announcer Andy Jick. A resident of Newton, Jick, 66, died unexpectedly in his sleep on May 3, 2019.
He was the devoted son of the late Rabbi Leon and Millicent Jick, brother to Todd (Wendy), Theo (Barbara), and Dan (Elizabeth) Jick. He was also the loving uncle to Jamie, Matt and Lily Relle, Zoe, Josh, Adina and Noah Pardo, Jeremy and Noah.
Jick was the public address announcer for the Eagles since 2001 for both men's and women's basketball along with a multitude of Olympic sports during his great career at The Heights.
Boston-area sports fans also remember Jick from his storied career as the public address announcer for the Boston Celtics from 1980-97.
"It's a tremendously sad day for all of us with the passing of Andy Jick," said William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond. "Andy's love and passion for BC Athletics was evident to everyone who ever had the opportunity to meet him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy's friends and family."
The funeral service will be held at Levine Chapel, located at 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, Mass. on Tuesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. His burial will take place at Temple Israel Cemetery in Wakefield, Mass. Shiva will be held on Tuesday (7-9 p.m.), and Wednesday and Thursday (2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.) at the home of Dan and Elizabeth Jick at 15 Lawrence Road in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
