Team race scheduled to start on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Boston College women's sailing team finished fifth in the Sperry Women's National Sailing Championship in Newport, Rhode Island, hosted by Brown University.
The Eagles posted 234 points, while Brown won the event with 184 points. Harvard was second (199 points), Yale was third (214) and George Washington placed fourth (231).
"I'm proud of the effort,'' said BC head coach Greg Wilkinson. "We fought hard yesterday after a slow start to climb to a position where we could make at the championship. Unfortunately a few mistakes today proved costly. The Brown team sailed incredibly well today, so congratulations to them.''
Senior Isabella Loosbrock and Emma Perry placed sixth in the A Division with 124 points. Brown placed first with 84 points, while Harvard was second with 100 points.
In the B Division, BC's tandem of Sophia Reineke and Tara Ferraris placed sixth with 110 points, while Harvard was first with 99 points.
The Laser Performance Team Race National Championship will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Newport.
