Urbinati, Dempsey Named Eagles of the Week

Urbinati went undefeated in a 2-0 week for women's tennis while Dempsey was hot at the plate in BC's series win over Florida State.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College baseball junior Brian Dempsey and women's tennis senior Jackie Urbinati have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week for their performances this past week.
Playing in the No. 2 singles spot, Urbinati had an undefeated weekend in both singles and doubles for BC in helping the squad match last year's win total at 13. In the Eagles' 5-2 win over Houston on Friday, the senior captain defeated Mimi Kenall-Woseley 6-1, 6-2 for the straight-set victory. In BC's 5-2 win over Louisiville on Sunday, the Harrison, N.Y. native earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Nikolina Jovic.
Dempsey hit .563 for the Eagles in a 2-2 week, picking up at least one hit in every game and helping BC to its first series win over Florida State in a decade. The junior had three multi-hit and two, three-hit games in the 2-2 week. Dempsey owned a 1.225 on-base plus slugging percentage. In BC's three-game series at Florida State, the shortstop totaled a team-leading eight hits. He picked up two RBI in the Eagles' series-opening win on Friday and two more in the series-clinching win on Sunday.
