
Eagles Head To No. 14/15 Syracuse

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team (14-9, 3-7 ACC) will take on No. 15/14 Syracuse (17-5, 6-3 ACC) Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. Fans can watch the game live via ACC Network Extra.

The Eagles are coming off a tough road loss at Virginia, 79-77, in overtime. It was the second overtime game for BC in the last three games. On Jan. 31, Boston College defeated Duke in double-overtime, 92-90.

BC fought back from 13 points down in the first half against Virginia. Freshman Makayla Dickens led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Junior Emma Guy had 18 points and eight boards, while sophomore Sydney Lowery chipped in with 10 points.Â

Dickens is averaging 23.0 points and six boards in the last three games. She tallied her career-high of 25 at Miami and followed it up with a 20-point effort vs. Virginia Tech. At Virginia, Dickens matched her season-high in three-pointers made with seven, as she went 7-for-11 from long range.

- Syracuse leads the overall series, 29-23. The Orange have not lost at game to BC since joining the ACC.
- Last year Boston College lost to Syracuse twice. The Eagles lost at Syracuse on Jan. 28, 75-57. In the second game at Conte Forum on Feb. 25, BC lost 69-63.

- In 1987-88, Boston College defeated Providence, 77-63, at home. That season BC went 17-11 and 10-6 in the Big East. Ann Odoy '88 led the team in scoring with a 14.1 scoring average. It was the year the NCAA introduced the three-point shot and Odoy led BC with 68.
