Wilcox, Baldelli Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women's tennis player Kylie Wilcox and baseball outfielder Dante Baldelli have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week for their performances this past weekend.

En route to an unbeaten weekend, Wilcox beat No. 6 Sara Daavettila of second-ranked North Carolina 6-2 in the third set on Friday to clinch her singles match, defeating the highest ranked opponent in school history. Wilcox won the match 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 and also combined with Natasha Irani to defeat Daavettila and Alle Sanford in doubles, 6-4.. On Sunday, the junior closed out her weekend by dominating Alana Smith of No. 23 NC State in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Baldelli drove in six runs on the weekend on the strength of a 2-for-5, five-RBI performance in BC's 14-4 win over Bethune-Cookman on Sunday afternoon. In the win, the center fielder smacked a triple and his second career home run while scoring three runs. He finished the weekend hitting .308 (4-for-13) with six RBIs, five runs scored, one home run, one triple and one stolen base.
