Men's Track and Field Assistant Coach David Taranto Will Be Leaving the Eagles, to Become the Head Coach at The Sage Colleges
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's track and field assistant coach David Taranto will be leaving the program and taking over as the head coach for the men's and women's track and cross country team at The Sage Colleges in Albany, N.Y.
Â
David graduated from Boston College in 2016 with a degree in History, and earned his master of education in 2017 from BC. As an undergrad, Taranto spent three years on the cross-country/track and field team.
Â
"Since joining our cross-country and track & field staff in 2016, David has done an outstanding job recruiting and mentoring men of character," said head coach Matt Kerr. "David's strong leadership abilities, as well as drive and passion for our sport, always meant he would be called to lead a program of his own. We are excited to see David take this opportunity in his career and are very grateful for the time he spent as an Eagle."
Â
Taranto will begin his new job on Feb. 4.
