Eagles Staff Named Best in Northeast Region

GILBERT, Ariz. – The NFHCA announced Monday that the BC field hockey coaching staff of head coach Kelly Doton and assistant coaches Mark Foster, Maggie Reddecliff and Jill Gambino as the 2019 Spiideo/NFHCA Coaching Staff of the Year in the northeast region.

The staff led BC to unprecedented success during the 2019 season. After a 4-5 start, the Eagles won seven of its last eight regular season games in route to a program-best 4-2 ACC record and second seed in the ACC Championships. The Eagles then went on to make their first ACC Championship game in program history.

BC then went on to make its first final four run in program history. The Eagles defeated No. 11 Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 2-1, and then No. 5 Louisville, 2-1 (5-4 SO), two days later. BC would fall to eventual national champion North Carolina in the national semifinal to end one of the best seasons in BC field hockey history.

BC saw unprecedented success this season, as Doton was also named ACC Coach of the Year – the first in program history – and Margo Carlin was named the program's first ACC Freshman of the Year.
