Three Eagles Earn NEWISA Postseason Honors

Gaby Carreiro and Michela Agresti earned second team honors while Olivia Vaughn earned third team honors.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three Boston College women's soccer players added postseason accolades this week from the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA). Senior Gaby Carreiro and freshman Michela Agresti earned All-New England Second Team honors while senior Olivia Vaughn earned All-New England Third Team honors.
Carriero started all 18 games for the Eagles in 2019 and finished with a career-high five goals and two assists for 12 points. Two of the captain's goals were game-winning scores while nine of her points came in ACC play. Carreiro, who went 2-for-2 on penalty kicks for BC on the year, finished with 12 shots on goal. The Upton, Mass. native's goal against top-ranked Virginia on Oct. 28 marked the lone goal the Cavaliers gave up in the run of play in a conference game in 2019.
Agresti logged a team-leading 1,642 minutes on the pitch for the Eagles in 2019. The defender started all 18 of BC's contest, going the full 90 minutes in 17 of them and put in three efforts of 90-plus minutes. The Swampscott, Mass. native registered two assists on the year, with both of them coming in ACC play -- doing it against No. 5 Florida State on Sept. 19 and against Miami on Sept. 26.
Vaughn led the Eagles with 19 points during the 2019 season, scoring seven goals while assisting on a career-high five. Vaughn's 11 points on four goals and three assists in ACC play tied for fourth overall in the league. The Montclair, N.J. native finished her BC career with 62 points on 26 goals and eight assists, good for 15th all-time in program history. Vaughn, who started all 18 games this season, played in all 77 of BC's contests over the last four seasons.
