Sam Smith, Olivia Vaughn Earn Honors From United Soccer Coaches

Both Smith and Vaughn earned spots on the All-Atlantic Third Team.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Olivia Vaughn and Sam Smith have earned honors from the United Soccer Coaches for their efforts during the 2019 season, the organization announced today. Both Smith and Vaughn earned spots on the All-Atlantic Third Team.

Vaughn, who was named Third Team All-ACC last month, led the Eagles with 19 points this season, scoring seven goals while assisting on a career-high five. Vaughn's 11 points on four goals and three assists in ACC play tied for fourth overall in the league. The Montclair, N.J. native finished her BC career with 62 points on 26 goals and eight assists, good for 15th all-time in program history. Vaughn totaled six multi-goal games in her time on the Heights, including a career-high five points with two goals and an assist against UMass Lowell on Aug. 25, 2019. Vaughn played in all 77 of BC's contests over the last four seasons.

Smith finished her rookie season with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Her eight goals on the year was good for a tie for eighth overall in the ACC while ranking third among conference freshman. The Hanson, Mass. native finished the 2019 ACC slate with seven points on three goals and one assist while playing the third-most minutes among BC field players (819). She finished the season with 1,417 minutes played, second among BC rookies, while finishing second only to Vaughn in scoring. Smith also earned a spot on the ACC All-Freshman team.
