Dwyer Named NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week

GILBERT, Ariz. – After posting a shutout win over No. 4 Duke, Sarah Dwyer has been named the NFHCA Division 1 Defensive Player of the Week.

In the win, Dwyer made three shutouts to help BC secure a 1-0 win over the Blue Devils. The win gave the West Long Branch, New Jersey native a 7-2 record this season and six shutouts on the season.

Dwyer has been one of the best goalkeepers in the country, posting the second-best goals against average (0.84) and save percentage (0.814) in the nation this season.

Since Oct. 4, Dwyer has been a stellar 7-1 with a 0.500 goals against average and 0.88 save percentage. She has only given up four goals on 34 total shots in those eight games.

Boston College opens ACC Championship play on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. against No. 21 Wake Forest at the Newton Field Hockey Complex, live on ACC Network.
