Browne Garners Hockey East Player of the Week Honors

The sophomore scored a nation-leading five goals on the weekend.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced Monday that Boston College forward Kelly Browne has been named the league's Player of the Week. The sophomore led the country and Hockey East with five goals on the weekend, spearheading the women's hockey team's two-win weekend at Kelley Rink.

Browne scored four goals in BC's 5-2 win over New Hampshire on Friday night, potting two in the first period and two in the second period. It marked the 11th four-goal game in program history and a new career-high for Browne. Her third goal of the game marked her third career game-winning goal and her second of the season. It was her fifth multi-point game of the season and ninth of her career.

The Burlington, Mass. native added another goal in a win over Providence on Saturday to extend her point streak to five games. On the weekend, she led the Eagles with 10 shots on goal and 22 face-off wins while finishing plus-3.

This is the first conference Player of the Week honor for Browne. She was twice named the league's Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week during her 2018-19 freshman season.

The Eagles return to Hockey East action on Saturday, Nov. 9 with a 3 p.m. game at UConn.
