Six Named to Longstreth/NFHCA All-Northeast Region Teams

GILBERT, Ariz. – Six members of the Boston College field hockey team were named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Region teams, with five on the first team and one on the second team, as announced by the NFHCA Monday.

Margo Carlin, Sky Caron, Sarah Dwyer, Fusine Govaert and Jaime Natale were all named to the first team, while Charlotte von Huelsen was named to the second team.

BC had the most first-team members of any school in any region and it's the most first-team members in a single season in program history.

Carlin led BC in scoring as a freshman and climbed up the single season record books. She scored the fourth-most goals in a single season at BC with 20 and put up the fourth-most points in a season with 46. The Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania native was named the ACC Freshman of the Year and a member of the All-ACC first team. She finished the season second in the conference in both goals and points.

Caron was the backbone of the defense for the Eagles, helping BC to a program-best 4-2 record in ACC play and a 1.17 GAA in ACC play. Caron was also a threat on offense as part of a two-headed attack on penalty corners. She posted four goals and six assists on the season for 14 points in her sophomore campaign. The Hampton, N.H. native registered an assist in each NCAA Tournament game for BC, including the game-winning goal against Northwestern.

Dwyer was one of the best goalkeepers in the country, posting a 1.13 GAA and a 0.760 save percentage for an 11-4 record. Dwyer's GAA is tied for the third-best in a single season in program history, while she also had eight shutouts, which is also tied for third in a single season. A native of West Long Branch, New Jersey, Dwyer was named to the ACC All-Tournament team after being the first goalie to record shutouts in the first round and semifinals to make the conference championship.

Govaert had her best season yet at BC, posting career-highs in goals (8), assists (8) and points (24). BC's biggest scoring threat on corners, five of her eight goals were game-winners. From Rye, New York, Govaert was an All-ACC first team member and an ACC All-Tournament team member. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Virginia in the ACC Semifinals to send BC to its first ACC Championship game in program history.

Natale tied her career-best in goals (4), while also setting career-highs in assists (5) and points (13). Natale was tied for fifth on the team in goals and fourth in assist, while ending up in fourth in points. She scored two goals in the ACC Tournament which helped her land on the ACC All-Tournament team.

Von Huelsen is BC's lone member on the second team, where she is coming off an impressive freshman season, where she scored five goals with three assists for 13 points on the year.
