Govaert Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After helping the Boston College field hockey team to two wins, including a 1-0 victory over No. 8 Virginia, junior Fusine Govaert was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week.

Govaert totaled five points on the weekend with two goals and one assist, while also scoring both game-winning goals over the weekend.

Govaert scored the lone goal to give BC a 1-0 win over the Cavaliers on a penalty corner with six seconds left in the first half. She only took two shots during the game, capitalizing on her one shot on goal.

Then on Sunday against Quinnipiac, the Rye, New York native scored just 2:32 into the game on another penalty corner. Then later assisted Nell Webber's goal, who tipped home a Govaert shot.

Govaert and BC next play on Thursday, Oct. 10 against Harvard at the Newton Field Hockey Complex, live on ACC Network Extra.
