CHESTNUT Hill, Mass. – Sarah Dwyer and Stefan Sigurdarson have been named the Musco Lighting Eagles of the Week for their performances this past week.
Sigurdarson scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in the 84th minute, to lead the men's soccer team to an upset 2-1 win over No. 3 Wake Forest on Friday night. The freshman from Kopavogur, Iceland had staked the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. Sigurdarson finished BC's 1-0-1 week with eight shots.
Dwyer posted two shutouts for the field hockey team over the weekend. The senior from West Long Branch, N.J. made three saves in BC's 1-0 win at No. 8 Virginia on Friday before returning home on Sunday to make six stops in a 4-0 victory over Quinnipiac on Sunday. Dwyer now has eight career shutouts.
