Bilka Tabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week

The freshman had three goals on the weekend, including a two-goal performance against Maine.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced Monday that Boston College freshman Hannah Bilka has been named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week after a three-goal weekend for the Eagles.

The Coppell, Texas native scored the first period game-winning goal in the Eagles' 5-1 win over Holy Cross on Friday night before adding two more goals in a 3-3 overtime tie with Maine on Saturday. Bilka scored 30 seconds into the second period against the Black Bears and then potted the game-tying power-play goal with 90 seconds to play in the third period. She finished the weekend with seven shots on goal and a plus-2 rating.Â

Bilka extended her point streak to seven games over the weekend, and Saturday marked her third multi-goal game of the season and fifth multi-point game of the year. She now has a team-leading 14 points on 10 goals and four assists and has three game-winning goals. Bilka leads all Hockey East rookies in points and goals and is second overall in points and tops in power-play goals and game-winning goals.

This is Bilka's second weekly award of the year, as she was named the Player of the Week on Oct. 7.
The Eagles host New Hampshire on Friday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and then welcome Providence on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a 4 p.m. puck drop.
