Eagles welcome Cameron Swartz to program.
The Boston College women's basketball program added mid-year transfer Cameron Swartz as announced today by Eagles head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee.
Â
"I'm excited about the addition of Cameron to our program. She is a skilled combo-guard who will add depth to our already talented incoming class,'' said head coach Bernabei-McNamee.
Â
Swartz originally signed with Colorado. She played seven games in the first half of the season for the Buffs. Her first career point in college came off a three-pointer against Navy.
Â
A 5-foot-11 guard from Marietta, Georgia, Swartz officially signed with Boston College this week and will begin attending classes this semester. Swartz will be eligible in January of 2020.
Â
Swartz played at Fellowship Christian School and averaged 32 points, 8.5 rebounds 4.1 steals and shot 47 percent from the floor. She was a first-team all-state for Class 1A North, second-team All-Georgia and led the state of Georgia in scoring as a senior. Swartz finished her career with 1,867 points and 612 rebounds.
Â
A three-start recruit according to ESPN, Swartz can play up-tempo, has a quick release, long range shooting ability and good court vision.
Â
Swartz played for Team Elite in Georgia and led the team to the 2017 Nike National EYBL championship.
Â
An all-around athlete, Swartz also ran track and played soccer and softball in high school. She was an all-region shortstop/third baseman and was a member of the Fellowship Christian State Championship team in 2015.
