
Eagles Debut at the Top of US Lacrosse Rankings

Lacrosse has been put at the top spot in the nation heading into 2019
SPARKS, Md. Â --Â The Boston College women's lacrosse team has been tabbed as the preseason No. 1 by US Lacrosse Preseason Top 20 ahead of the 2019 campaign.Â

Coming off back-to-back appearances in the national championship game, the Eagles return reigning Tewaaraton Award recipient Sam Apuzzo and ACC Defensive Player of the Year Elizabeth Miller while 2017 NCAA Tournament MVPÂ Kenzie Kent returns for her final season of eligibility after red-shirting last season.

The newest freshman class was ranked as the No. 1 recruiting class by Inside Lacrosse heading into 2019 as Jenn Medjid, Cassidy Weeks, Courtney Weeks, Caitlynn Mossmann, Maddie Cooney, Paisley Eagan and Sara O'Brien join the squad.

The Eagles also dominated the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America list with five honorees: Kent along with Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault and Miller were each named to the first team while senior Hannah Hyatt found a spot on the third team. The four first-team placements was the most from any Division I institution.Â

The Eagles begin their campaign hosting cross-town rival Boston University on Feb. 9.
